What is a Visual Identity or Logo? Also known as “logotype” or “trademark” A symbol (or words and a symbol) that define a company or an organization Needs to be simple and clean, work in color and black & white, and work at all different sizes (from a pencil to a billboard)

Let’s look at some “good” logos for companies...

Quick Write/Sketch (5/27/05) What makes a visual identity memorable? Pick one of the logos that you remember from today and see if you can reproduce it. What made it memorable to you?

Illustrator Practice Work Assignment #3 Use the tools I have shown you so far to recreate the image you will see on the screen as closely as possible. When you are done, use these same tools to make Illustrator creations of your own (“play!”) Save your files!!!!
