BEHAVIOUR POLICY Pupil Voice May 2015

Pupil Voice We have discussed rewards and sanctions within whole pupil voice sessions We collected all the ideas We shared the ideas as leaders We then developed a working party and improved the ideas We have discussed our ideas with Mrs Love and Mrs Horrocks We have developed ideas with all staff and governors We will share our ideas with all the children and parents

Our main findings Children wanted better rewards Children wanted stronger sanctions (they believe some children are not taking red or yellow cards seriously) Children don’t like golden time because it was too short and not immediate Children don’t think class pegs work Children don’t think that all the adults in the school follow the current Good to be Green system

GOLD SILVER GREEN ORANGE RED

GREEN Everyone starts the day on green (this must be put back daily) This is expected behaviour

SILVER Green all week Continually working hard REWARD Weekly raffle ticket (Friday Mrs Love)

GOLD Displaying school values. That something special. REWARD 1X) Name in book – 2 raffle tickets 2X) Name in book – phone call home – prize 3X) Name in book – letter home – end of term reward

ORANGE Followed by a verbal warning This is a final warning You can go back to green

RED Continued unacceptable behaviour SANCTION 1) Name in red book (Mrs Love) 2) Name in red book and phone call home 3) Name in red book and meeting with parents and Mrs Love

Class rewards The children liked the fact that classes have their own system of happy points/ effort stars/ stickers etc Teachers wanted whole class rewards so instead of pegs we are going to have marbles in a jar

House Points The winning team gets 30 minutes extra play at the end of the term

Golden Time No More golden time Children would like weekly buddy time / reading / playing Year 3 are going to go to other classes and become trainee buddies

End of term reward To be decided at the beginning of term by pupil voice

What next Talk to the Teachers Talk to the Teaching Assistants Talk to the Lunchtime Supervisors Talk to the Governors Talk to the parents Talk to the children Set up the charts for week 1 term 6 Pupil Voice leaders to ensure all cards are changed back daily
