2015-’16 Running Club

What/when is Running Club? Running club is a school program that gives students an opportunity to exercise through running. Running is an excellent activity to keep your heart healthy and a good way for students to push themselves physically. Running club will be every Monday afternoon from 3:00 – 3:45, and Thursday MORNINGS from 7:40- 8:10. There will be no make-ups due to bad weather or holidays. Please be on time when picking/dropping off up your child.

Kindergarten For safety reasons, kinders may only run if they are accompanied by an older sibling or parent. They will not be allowed to run unless one of the above are present. Older friends or neighbors don’t qualify.

Where do I pick up/drop off my child? All students after school on Monday will be picked up from the playground area. Your child must be signed out before they can be excused. Pick up should be no later than 3:45. Thursday mornings students will line up with their class on the courts at the conclusion of running club practice. Monday afternoons you may park in the North or south school parking lot. Please do not park in the bus or bike lane on Mustang.

No Play Policy When done running, students will check out and wait for their ride under the Ramada or on the basketball courts. Thursday mornings, students will line up with their class before school starts.

Runners are expected to: Do their best Follow instructions Be respectful to coaches, pod leaders, and fellow runners If runners are unable to meet expectations: 1.Given a verbal warning 2.Sit out one practice 3.Asked not to return to Running Club Expectations

Permission slips Please turn in any permission slips for Running Club practice or races in a timely manner. This is very important so students can be put on the roster for checking in/out. There will be separate permission slips for Running Club meets. Please do not hand in slips on the day of the race. Slips will be distributed well before the meet and need to be returned no later than the day before the race.
