Genesis

Genesis 12 vs 6 Abram (mighty father) follows God’s instructions and goes to Canaan. He is 75 when he left Haran and takes Lot (covering, veil) with him. “Abram follows God’s instructions and goes to Canaan. He is 75 when he left Haran and takes Lot with him. “And Abram passed through the land unto the place of Sichem, unto the plain of Moreh. And the Canaanite (lowland, subdued) was then in the land.” יַּעֲבֹר אַבְרָם בָּאָרֶץ עַד מְקֹום שְׁכֶם עַד אֵלֹון מֹורֶה וְהַֽכְּנַעֲנִי אָז בָּאָֽרֶץ׃ “And Abram passed through the land unto the place of Sichem (shoulder), unto the plain of Moreh (teacher). And the Canaanite was then in the land.” שְׁכֶם (shoulder, shoulder blade, upper back in general) מוֹרֶה (teacher) same as מוֹרֶה one teaching, early rain כְּנַעֲנִי from כְּנַעַן (lowland) 4th son of Ham and the progenitor of the Phoenicians and of the various nations who peopled the seacoast of Palestine. West of the Jordan. עָבַר to pass over, cross, cross over, pass over, march over, overflow, go over | to pass beyond | to pass through, traverse Abram goes to Egypt due to famine. Pharaoh takes Sarai (princess) into his papace after Abram said she was his sister. God sends plagues to Pharaoh who then sends Abram away.

Genesis 13 Abram returns from Egypt and goes to the place of his friend Mamre the Amorite Canaanite (Gen 10:16) (Mamre means "strength" or "fatness“) by the mighty trees/oaks/terebinths in Hebron (association). This is after the separation from Lot. God is associating Abram with a true brother in spirit and truth. In Chapter 12 before he left for Egypt during the famine it was noted where Abraham dwelt “the Canaanite was then in the land.” וַיֶּאֱהַל אַבְרָם וַיָּבֹא וַיֵּשֶׁב בְּאֵלֹנֵי מַמְרֵא אֲשֶׁר בְּחֶבְרֹון וַיִּֽבֶן־שָׁם מִזְבֵּחַ לַֽיהוָֽה׃ פ “And Abram moved his tent (from between Bethel and Hai), and came and dwelt by the oaks of Mamre, which are in Hebron, and built there an altar unto Jehovah.”

And it came to pass in the days of Amraphel king of Shinar, Arioch (lion-like) king of Ellasar, Chedorlaomer king of Elam (secret, concealed, eternity), and Tidal king of nations; That these made war with Bera king of Sodom (burning), and with Birsha king of Gomorrah (submersion), Shinab king of Admah (red earth), and Shemeber king of Zeboiim (swelling, honour) and the king of Bela(destruction), which is Zoar(insignificance).

Confederate Rulers of the Middle East אֵת כְּדָרְלָעֹמֶר מֶלֶךְ עֵילָם וְתִדְעָל מֶלֶךְ גֹּויִם וְאַמְרָפֶל מֶלֶךְ שִׁנְעָר וְאַרְיֹוךְ מֶלֶךְ אֶלָּסָר אַרְבָּעָה מְלָכִים אֶת־הַחֲמִשָּֽׁה׃ “ ….Chedorlaomer the king of Elam, and with Tidal king of nations, and Amraphel king of Shinar, and Arioch king of Ellasar;…” Virtually no trace of any of the above can be found in ancient extra-Biblical archives and scholars cannot come to any definitive identification. These kings were killed (Gen 14 vs 17) by Abram’s 318 men and a small band of Amorites from one family. This would have been incredulous and these four kings were probably written off so that history could be re-written.

Land of Giants conquered by Chedorlaomer

Land of Giants THE LAND OF GIANTS about 400 years on: The sons of Anak, the Anakim, in Numbers 13 are occupying Hebron. In Deuteronomy 2 the land of Ammon is said to belong to the Rephaim, a people as great as the Anakim, and also connected to the Nephilim giants in Genesis. Og, king of Bashan, was the last of the Rephaim, and king of the Amorites. Deuteronomy 3:11 gives the dimensions of Og's bed as over 14 feet long, and over 6 feet wide. I Samuel 17:40 depicts the battle between David and Goliath, the giant Philistine from Gath. Caleb drove the sons of Anak from their land, and forced them to migrate west, where they merged and assimilated with the Philistines. I Chronicles 20:6-7 speaks of another Philistine giant, "a huge man with six fingers on each hand and six toes on each foot - twenty-four in all."

Gen 14: There is very scant information from archaeology as to the identity of the 4 kings. This is proof of the validity of the Biblical record. Which ancient nation of the calibre of the four kings and their leader would record such a defeat by a small band of 318 men allied with an Amorite family group? The victory would have been impossible without marked divine intervention: וּמַלְכִּי־צֶדֶק מֶלֶךְ שָׁלֵם הֹוצִיא לֶחֶם וָיָיִן וְהוּא כֹהֵן לְאֵל עֶלְיֹֽון׃ “And Melchizedek king of Salem brought forth bread and wine: and he was the priest of the most high God.” וַ ֽיְבָרְכֵהוּ וַיֹּאמַר בָּרוּךְ אַבְרָם לְאֵל עֶלְיֹון קֹנֵה שָׁמַיִם וָאָֽרֶץ׃ “And he blessed him, and said, Blessed be Abram of the most high God, possessor of heaven and earth:” וּבָרוּךְ אֵל עֶלְיֹון אֲשֶׁר־מִגֵּן צָרֶיךָ בְּיָדֶךָ וַיִּתֶּן־לֹו מַעֲשֵׂר מִכֹּֽל׃ “And blessed be the most high God, which hath delivered thine enemies into thy hand. And he gave him a tenth of all.”

Genesis 15:6 וְהֶאֱמִן בַּֽיהוָה וַיַּחְשְׁבֶהָ לֹּו צְדָקָֽה׃ And Abram believed the LORD and He accounted it righteousness for him וְדֹור רְבִיעִי יָשׁוּבוּ הֵנָּה כִּי לֹא־שָׁלֵם עֲוֹן הָאֱמֹרִי עַד־הֵֽנָּה׃ And generation four they will return here because the guilt of the Amorites is incomplete until that point

Genesis 16 vs 13 & 14 וַתִּקְרָא שֵׁם־יְהוָה הַדֹּבֵר אֵלֶיהָ אַתָּה אֵל רֳאִי כִּי אָֽמְרָה הֲגַם הֲלֹם רָאִיתִי אַחֲרֵי רֹאִֽי׃ “And she called the Name of the LORD who spoke to her ‘You are the God of Sight” for she said ‘Have I even here seen the Wake of the One Who Sees me?’”EVG עַל־כֵּן קָרָא לַבְּאֵר בְּאֵר לַחַי רֹאִי הִנֵּה בֵין־קָדֵשׁ וּבֵין בָּֽרֶד׃ "Wherefore the well was called Be’er-la’hai-ro’i; behold, it is between Kadesh and Bered."KJV
