Costumes from the 80’s vs. Costumes Now

Sociologists Murray Straus and Larry Baron (University of New Hampshire) found that rape rates are highest in states which have high sales of sex magazines and lax enforcement of pornography laws.

Rape Rape is the forcible violation of the sexual intimacy of another person. It does injury to justice and charity. Rape deeply wounds the respect, freedom, and physical and moral integrity to which every person has a right. It causes grave damage that can mark the victim for life. It is always an intrinsically evil act. Graver still is the rape of children committed by parents (incest) or those responsible for the education of the children entrusted to them.

PROSTITUTION! Prostitution: the practice of engaging in relatively indiscriminate sexual activity, in general with individuals other than a spouse or friend, in exchange for immediate payment in money or OTHER valuables. The commercial sex business consists of these “types” of selling: Street prostitution, massage brothels, escort services, outcall services, strip clubs, lap dancing, phone sex, adult and child pornography, child prostitution, video and internet pornography, trafficking, and prostitution tourism.

Prostitution: Average age of entry: yrs Average mean age: 31 Average years in prostitution: 11 Threatened with a weapon: 78% Physically assaulted: 82% Raped: 82% Percent younger than age 18 at entry: 42%

Raped more than five times: 73% Current or past homelessness: 84% Sexually abused as a child: 65-95% Does Drugs: 75% Drinks Alcohol: 26%

A former Canadian prostitute says: “What rape is to others is normal to us.”

“People are destroying lives of countless women while they do it— feeding the monster the sex industry has become. If you have participated in any facet of it, YOU are part of it too….for there must be ENABLERS to create VICTIMS.”

Incest Incest designates intimate relations between relatives or in-laws within a degree that prohibits marriage between them. St. Paul stigmatizes this especially grave offense: "It is actually reported that there is immorality among you... for a man is living with his father's wife.... In the name of the Lord Jesus... you are to deliver this man to Satan for the destruction of the flesh.... "181 Incest corrupts family relationships and marks a regression toward animality.

Trial Marriage 2391 Some today claim a "right to a trial marriage" where there is an intention of getting married later. However firm the purpose of those who engage in premature sexual relations may be, "the fact is that such liaisons can scarcely ensure mutual sincerity and fidelity in a relationship between a man and a woman, nor, especially, can they protect it from inconstancy of desires or whim."[183] Carnal union is morally legitimate only when a definitive community of life between a man and woman has been established. Human love does not tolerate "trial marriages." It demands a total and definitive gift of persons to one another.[184]

Trial Marriage Ct. Some people believe that having sex before marriage will help to discern compatibility with the other person. However, a sexual relationship with a fiancée is more likely to cloud that judgment, giving a false allusion of intimacy. Sex is not meant to be a guiding principle for a good spouse. Patience, self-sacrifice, humility, courage, chastity and wisdom are all powerful attributes that will help to build a strong basis for a happy life together. Purity helps to provide clarity of intention when it comes to marriage, strengthening both the will and desire to want the best for the other person.

Homosexuality 2357 Homosexuality refers to relations between men or between women who experience an exclusive or predominant sexual attraction toward persons of the same sex. It has taken a great variety of forms through the centuries and in different cultures. Its psychological genesis remains largely unexplained. Basing itself on Sacred Scripture, which presents homosexual acts as acts of grave depravity,[140] tradition has always declared that "homosexual acts are intrinsically disordered."[141] They are contrary to the natural law. They close the sexual act to the gift of life. They do not proceed from a genuine affective and sexual complementarity. Under no circumstances can they be approved The number of men and women who have deep-seated homosexual tendencies is not negligible. They do not choose their homosexual condition; for most of them it is a trial. They must be accepted with respect, compassion, and sensitivity. Every sign of unjust discrimination in their regard should be avoided. These persons are called to fulfill God's will in their lives and, if they are Christians, to unite to the sacrifice of the Lord's Cross the difficulties they may encounter from their condition.

Homosexuality Continued 2359 Homosexual persons are called to chastity. By the virtues of self- mastery that teach them inner freedom, at times by the support of disinterested friendship, by prayer and sacramental grace, they can and should gradually and resolutely approach Christian perfection.

Sins Against Chastity Include: Lust Adultery Masturbation Contraception Fornication Pornography Prostitution Incest Bestiality Direct sterilization Rape Homosexual acts Divorce Polygamy Trial marriage Child molestation

What do we do? –Start by changing your views. Stop dressing provocatively or looking at sexual images. Be the spouse you desire to be with. Ignore what others will say. Misery loves company. Pray for those who have fallen.

What’s a Corporal Work of Mercy that you can do? Feed the hungry Give drink to the thirsty Clothe the naked Shelter the homeless Visit the sick Visit the imprisoned Bury the dead

The Spiritual Works of Mercy Admonish (warn) the sinner Instruct the ignorant (This and the next work are extremely pertinent categories today, when so many people are confused by what the Church teaches on contraception, abortion, homosexuality, etc.) Counsel the doubtful Comfort the sorrowful Bear wrongs patiently Forgive all injuries Pray for the living and the dead
