 In the last scene of the movie, Romeo is informed that Juliet is “dead”. He then rushes back to Verona and enters the place in which the dead are conserved. He finds Juliet lying down on a bed and goes to her. Right before Romeo take the poison, Juliet opens her but says nothing, not knowing what her husband was drinking. After he dies, she tries to suck the poison out of his lips but she isn’t successful. She then gets the gun and shoots herself.

Zeffirelli Version If you could compare the three best movie versions of Romeo and Juliet, you would have to compare the Baz Lurhmann version, the Franco Zeffirelli version and the modern adaptation West side Story. There is a great amount of people who say the Lurhmann version is the best and many others agree. The end of Romeo and Juliet is the most important part. On this scene you have to feel the pain and pation that both characters have for each other and you could feel and see that more on the Bas Lurhmann version. The other two were good but not quite as good. All the endings on the movies are different, on Lurhmann version they die at a church n the zeffirelli version they die at the cementary and on west side story the male main character is called by another person and the women never commits suicicide. If you ever want to see a good and entertaining movie version on Romeo and Juliet Baz Lurhmann´s version is the best! By: Norma Cruz

West Side Story In West Side Story we have a entire diffrent view of Romeo and Juliet. This story is the Shakesperian story of Romeo and Juliet but with diffrent characters. In this movie, we have the story a some Puerto Ricans who went to live to the U.S.A. When they get there they are discriminated by Puerto Rican that were born there. 1 of each gang get in love and can’t be together, which were Maria and Anton. By: Mirna

This differce from the other 2 movies of Romeo and Joliet in Act 5 because, here in West Side Story, Anton is killed by Chino revenging the death of his friend. Also, the death wasnt was dramatic as we expeted. Maria tells all the gangs that were present she was going to kill them, because now she hated. In this version Maria does think of killing herself but she does not. At the end we can see that the gangs somehow join.

Comparing West Side Story to the other version, we can see how maria feels the same real affection to Anton as in Romeo and Juliet. We have the same thought in Romeo of thinking that Juliet is dead. Last, at the end Romeo dies like in all the versions.

Our Winner of Best Romeo and Juliet Story is….

Because… We choose the Luhrmann vesion because we found it very modern. Also, it shows of very detailed the love this 2 teenagers had. Another reason would be, Leonardo Di Caprio which looked amazing in the movie. And Last, the actors were very good and turned the movie very realistic
