Science Olympiad

What is Science Olympiad?  A national competition in which students compete in various “events” of their choosing.  Events cover all topics in science and engineering from meteorology to food science to bottle rockets.  There are 23 events to choose from, so there is something for everyone.

How does it work?  Choose events: students compete on an average of 3 events, more or less depending on their interests.  There are 2 or 3 students in each event.  Students guide their own studies and builds with our assistance to prepare for the competitions.  Meetings are more than just studying and are usually a lot of fun.

Events

Why should you join?  You’ll meet cool people who like the same things as you, both from Murchison and other schools. These connections can lead to great opportunities.  You can learn more about what you’re interested in, but in an environment that doesn’t force you to study things you’re not interested in.  You’ll make life-long friends.  Although it’s a long way away, colleges love Science Olympiad.
