Digital Literacy By Michael Stoppa

Components of computer 1. INPUT- sends data to the main memory 2. PROCESSOR- processes or manipulates data into information. This is done through the CPU- Central Processing Unit- this is made up of the control unit & arithmetic/logic unit. 3. MEMORY- electronic components that temporarily store instructions waiting to be executed by the processor.

More Components 4. OUTPUT- displays or present information- is made up of printers & display panels. 5. STORAGE- stores the information for future use when not being used in the memory. 6. COMMUNICATION DEVICES- a hardware component that enables a computer to send (transmit) & receive data, instructions, & information to & from one or more computers. ex: telephone lines, cables, cellular radio networks, & satellites. Some media is wireless- no physical lines or wires needed.

User interface elements Appearance of the search box – On large information or product heavy websites the search is key. If its hard to find the search box the user will assume no search functionality is available. Its good to be able to find the search box, having a good background can help. Ajax loading indicator – Improving the user experience by loading contact through asynchronous requests, make sure to tell the user that Ajax is being is being processed. Without it the user might give up because nothing happened to their click.

More user face Location of the log in and register functions – when users look at he page for the shopping cart button or the register now link the first place they look is at the top right. So its best to put them there. Easy identifilable links – should never be a problem but some websites do not clearly distinguish between links and main text in the main body.

Operating systems software Windows - Microsoft Windows is a series of operating systems produced by Microsoft.operating systemsMicrosoft Mac OS is a series of graphical user interface-based operating systems developed by Apple Inc. (formerly Apple Computer, Inc.) for their Macintosh line of computer systems. The Macintosh user experience is credited with popularizing the graphical user interface.graphical user interfaceoperating systemsApple Inc.Macintoshcomputer systems Mac Os is a multitasking, multi-user computer operating system originally developed in 1969 by a group of AT&T employees at Bell Labs,multitaskingmulti-useroperating systemAT&TBell Labs Unix is a computer operating system which is based on free and open source software. Although many different varieties of Linux exist, all are Unix-like and based on the Linux kernel, an operating system kernel created in 1992 by Linus Torvalds.operating systemfree and open source softwareUnix-likeLinux kernel operating system kernelLinus Torvalds Linux

Operating systems is a series of proprietary Unix operating systems developed and sold by IBM for several of its computer platforms.proprietaryUnixoperating systemsIBM IBM AIX An operating system with a Java virtual machine as a fundamental component. It was jointly developed by Sun Microsystems and IBM. Unlike Windows, Mac OS, Unix or Unix-like systems which are primarily written in the C programming language, JavaOS is primarily written in Java.operating systemJava virtual machineSun MicrosystemsIBMUnixUnix-likeCJava Java Os

Application software packages Adobe (designing Software) we have in-store for our customers a wide range of Adobe (Designing Software). These are provided with thousands of new fonts and other features, that can simply the designing work. SDADC System We offer SCADA system, which is advanced software and is available for small plants. With this software, different consoles and panels can be efficiently designed Data logger Software Our clients can avail from us DLOG software for Windows based machines that can communicate with data loggers spread all over the plants and represent them on PC E Governance Software It helps in planning & implementing search-engine friendly architecture from start and allows site to gain relevant & targeted traffic.
