A parade down the Champs Elysées Aviation of the Patrouille de France fly above the parade for spectators to see Bastille Day celebrates the Storming of The Bastille (July 14, 1789) which was a fortress and a prison in France where prisoners of influence were held, in hopes of capturing ammunition One tradition is a an enormous and colorful military parade that marches down the Champs Elysees on the morning of July 14 Fireworks are displayed at the Eiffel Tower The Bal du 14 juillet is a giant dance party, traditionally held on the place where The Bastille once stood. It is held on July 13.
