Child Development Program Advantages Integrates caring and responsibility into lessons Curriculum stresses cooperative learning, unity, and parental involvement Students are more cooperative, helpful, and empathetic Students are committed to democratic values such as fairness and justice

Resolving Conflict Creatively Program Violence Prevention Program (VPP): teaches emotional and social skills Students had higher standardized test scores Students cooperate better, have more confidence, and are less violent When used in Atlanta high school drop out rates decreased

Responsive Classroom Social and Emotional Learning Program Six Components: morning meeting, classroom organization, rules and logical consequences, guided discovery, academic choice, and assessment and reporting Helps diverse students cooperate and function in society

Seattle Development Project Consisted of parent-teacher training, decision making, conflict resolution, and refusal skills Participant Results: fewer teen pregnancies, better commitment to school, fewer violent acts, less likely to use alcohol, drugs, and tobacco

Final Thoughts… Emotional Intelligence is a key factor in work place promotion and success This program people see greater productivity, job satisfaction, and worker retention This program improved interpersonal skills and relationships
