ACCESS FOR NORTHERN VICTIMS INITIATIVE (ANVI) Evaluation Framework Planning Meeting Nipissing University March 7, 2001

Evaluation Framework: “An evaluation framework is a well-defined group of questions on which the structure of the inquiry is based. They form the specifications that map the route the evaluation must follow.”

Aims of an Evaluation: To ensure that the maximum benefit is gained from the initiative (formative) To describe and quantify the outcomes of the initiative (summative) To use the evaluation information to inform, to continuously improve.

The ANVI Purpose To provide a multi-year framework for the adaptation, development, implementation and evaluation of justice systems, processes and funded services that respond to the special circumstances of Northern communities and victims of crime that reside in them”

Key Objectives of the ANVI Initiative 1. Improve access to quality service for all victims of crime across northern Ontario 2. Increase availability of training/awareness education to justice stakeholders in northern communities 3. Improve coordination of the justice system response to northern victims of crime, and the communities and/or organizations that support them 4. Support the development of flexible, alternate justice models of support and healing to victims and communities in northern Ontario 5. Facilitate victim support through community healing 6. Expand and monitor the ongoing capacity of the provincial victim justice systems, processes and services to respond to northern communities.
