STRATEGIC PLANS: Strategic planning is the process of developing a plan, guideline or roadmap for a business that, based on its mission/vision/values and stated goals and objectives, indicates specific strategies and tactics or actions that will be taken to achieve these goals. Strategic planning should guide the efforts of the entire organization.

Top level management usually develop plans by consulting with the board and middle management. These are usually set for long period i.e. 5 years or more than it

Tactical Plans Tactical plans support strategic plan implementation and tactical goal achievement. They are usually developed by middle management at department or division’s level, with consultancy of lower management. These are often developed for intermediate period i.e. 3 to 5 years.

OPERATIONAL PLAN Operational plans help in the attainment of tactical plans, they are usually set by lower management for example units or individual. These plans usually involve short time frame of up to a year, such as a few months, weeks or even days.
