Gluteus Medius  Location: Posterior to Os Coxa, Upper side portion of your backside  Origin: top and side of Illium (top of Os Coxa)  Insertion: Femur  Action: Abduction of the leg

Gluteus Minimus  Location: deep muscle underneath gluteus maximus, Posterior to Os Coxa (your backside)  Origin: Illium (top of Os Coxa)  Insertion: Femur  Action: Abduction of the leg

Tensor fasciae latae  Location: Side of Os Coxa (top of hip)  Origin: Illium (top, side of Os Coxa)  Insertion: bottom Femur  Action: Thigh flexion, And leg Abduction

Rectus Femoris  Location: Anterior Upper leg, Lateral Quad muscle  Origin: Os Coxa  Insertion: Tibia  Action: Knee extension, hip flexion

Hamstrings (THERE ARE 3)  Location: Posterior Upper leg (literally means fat and muscle behind knee)  Action: Knee flexion (antagonist to quad muscles)

Tibialis anterior  Location: Anterior lower leg (shin muscle)  Action: dorsiflexion, inversion

Gastrocnemius  Location: Posterior lower leg (calf muscle)  Action: Plantar Flexion

Soleus  Location: Posterior lower leg (calf muscle) Dogs don’t have this muscle, moswt powerful lower leg muscle  Action: Plantar Flexion
