Define roles of each stakeholders and IAEA 5. Clearly define project milestones 6. Specify potential risks and mitigating measures
Original Title: Impact of Air Particulate Matter in the RCA region: Quantification of Key Sources and the Relationship between Major Components, Light Scattering and Visibility for Managers to Better Understand and Control Key Components Revised Title: Assessing the impact of urban Air Particulate Matter on air quality Original Overall Objective: Improved understanding of key sources of urban fine particulate matter pollution in major cities across the RCA region impacting on human health, visibility and cultural heritage Revised Overall Objective: To enhance capacity using NATs in assessing fine particulate matter impact on human health, visibility and historic monuments
Original Outcome: 1. Assessment of impacts from anthropogenic sources (local industries, coal burning for power production, manufacturing, motor vehicles, etc.) on fine particle urban air sheds using nuclear analytical technologies in relation with human health. 2. Establishment the new relationships between fine particle composition (black carbon, sulphates, nitrates, soil and other) with light scattering and visibility in the RCA Region. 3. Impacts of fine particulate matter pollution on cultural heritage objects identified. Revised Outcome: Enhanced awareness on air particulate matter impact on human health, visibility and historic monuments
Original Outputs 1. Project team operational National Seminars for information transfer of project objectives to end-users Relationship between visibility and find particulate matter sources in RCA Member States identified Applicability of nuclear analytical techniques for cultural heritage studies Tools for populating database and results extracted from database Gaps in fine particulate matter database filled by RRU services in case of equipment breakdown and urgency Database of fine particulate matter source from anthropogenic sources in urban areas in the RCA region Find filters loaded with air particulate matter Manuals for GENT samplers and sites selection, XRF and IBA analysis of air particulate matter
Revised Outputs 1. Project progress review and regional cooperation strengthened 2. Trained personnel on impact of APM on human health, visibility and historic monuments 3. Reports/ scientific papers on APM impact on human health, visibility and historic monuments 4. Regional database updated with APM elemental contents and source profile mainly from densely populated urban areas
