Here are commas in lists At the birthday party we ate chocolate, sandwiches, jelly and cake. Sam frightens the cat, teases the dog, bullies his brother and annoys the neighbours.

Here are commas to pause between two lots of information. We queued for the concert for four hours, but we didn’t manage to get tickets. When he saw the pirate ship on the horizon, the captain gave the alarm.

Here’s are commas separating further information Henry, an experienced cyclist, found the route easy. Jane, the fastest runner in the class, won the race three times.
