BENEFITS OF CREATING A BRAND WEDNESDAY 11 TH SEPTEMBER Learning objective: To be able to explain the benefits of successful branding.

Starter activity Working in pairs, one of you will be the teacher, one of you will be the student. The teacher will explain to the student what we covered last lesson. Then the student will read their homework to the teacher. Lastly, the teacher will comment on the student’s homework: was it detailed? Were key terms used? Do you think that the student put a lot of effort into their homework?

Consequences of poor branding Discuss what you think could happen to businesses if they don’t create a good brand. Loss of sales therefore profit. Loss of sales means that market share will decrease making competitors more powerful. Bad company image. This image could stick with the brand for a long time. Increased costs from trying to portray a better image e.g. more advertising, viral campaigns etc
