Ransom of Red Chief 1. Bas-relief—slightly raised; a kind of sculpture carved so that figures stand out only slightly from the flat surface. 2. Brake—a thick grouping of trees or undergrowth. 3. Court plaster—adhesive cloth for covering superficial cuts or scratches on the skin, used in the 18 th century.
