An over view of agricultural sector in Uganda Indeed, Uganda is an agricultural economy employing over 75% of her population and catering for over 85% foreign exchange earnings. It’s endowed with all climatic conditions that favor almost every plant growth or crops in different parts. Relief does not vary significantly, hence favoring agricultural mechanization which increases productivity and area cultivated. Generally, 90% of Uganda’s land is arable and only 45% is being utilized. This makes it a food basket for the great lakes region.
