Coandă effect UAV (unmaned aerial vehicle) Goals: develop an energy efficient UAV, easy to control and deploy in the field try to make the UAV operate in an autonomous mode research the swarm behavior and try to implement it over a small to medium sized network made from this type of devices research about energy efficiency for sensor grids used in this kind of mobile devices bring a new point of view over the way sensors array might be deployed/picked up in remote areas

Coandă effect UAV What have I done so far: study different sensor in order to chose the most energy efficient/weightless one for the system check to see if a Real Time Operating System might be implemented on such a device or try to use embedded software study network protocols used in small to medium sized wireless array sensor

Coandă effect UAV Future usage of device Search and rescue operations Deploy sensors array in remote or hard accessible areas Transport small cargo (up to 5-10 kg) without the need of a human operator ] Research, test and development of communication protocols and energy management system for different network configuration.

Henri Coanda – Romanian aeronautical engineer born in Patent No.2,108,652 dated February 15, 1938 concerned airflow acceleration over the periphery of a concave disc Geoff Hatton – British inventor, built a small UAV based on the “Coanda effect” Aesir-UAS in the GFS Project, have done projects that were later overtaken by US Army for future development and utilization.
