DRIVER DRIVER DIAGRAM a framework for success A framework for success

What is a Driver Diagram A driver diagram provides a framework to help us clarify and articulate improvement goals. Primary Drivers: Key areas that research shows we need to address in order to reach our aim. Secondary Drivers: Actions we can take to successfully implement primary drivers. Change Ideas: Suggestions to help us implement secondary drivers. It often helps to look at the DD both forwards and backwards to make sure your drivers area aligned.

Measures How will we know we are improving?

We need an AIM The aim should be as concise as possible

Primary and Secondary Drivers lead you to develop practical change ideas you can put into action at your local site.

Task Work in pairs to review a primary driver, the secondary drivers, and come up with practical change ideas.

Your ideas matter! During the day, add stickies to the laminated Driver Diagram with your ideas – we want YOUR ideas to drive the change. The updated Driver Diagram will be sent to all particpants next week and will be used to define the final DD we will share on the BCPSQC website.
