THE IMMUNE SYSTEM Your personal army

Your personal army MACROPHAGES B CELLS ANTIBODIES KILLER T CELLS NK CELLS HELPER T CELLS

MACROPHAGES Target: anything bad they find in their path. Role: To ingest harmful microorgamisms To activate helper T cells

B CELLS TARGET: pathogens and infected cells ROLE: secrete antibodies that attach to cells or pathogens to help destroy them

ANTIBODIES Role: To tag pathogens

KILLER T CELLS TARGET: infected cells. ROLE: Kill infected cells.

NK CELLS Target: infected cells Role: To kill cells that are infected

HELPER T CELLS TARGET: B and Killer T cells ROLE: to activate them using Interluekin.
