College doesn’t matter for me, I’m going to go pro!

But consider… There are 300 million people in the US, and very, very few sports stars. If you are going to go pro, you probably need to be the absolute best in the whole country. Are you?

Also… It is true that there are some sports stars who go pro right out of high school, but are there a lot? Who will be more competitive, someone who played against high school players, or someone who played in college, training under top coaches, against top teams, with the best training equipment?

So what can I do now? Find out what kind of career you might be interested in Find out what it takes to do that work Plan the education or training you need in order to get that job Take the right kinds of classes in high school to get you into college or the training program for that career
