When Bud was walking on the highway to find Mrs. Hill a man drove buy and Bud tried to hide behind the bushes but he was not fast enough. The man saw him and stopped to talk to him Bud tried to not let him see himself but he finally talked to the man he took him back to his place and spent the night.

When Bud was at the foster home the parents and the 12 year old boy Todd were mean. Todd stuck a pencil up Buds nose while he was sleeping all the to R. Bud woke up and Todd and him got in a fight. After Todd and him fought Bud got him back by putting his hand in a hot pail of water so Todd wet the bed while he was sleeping.

Bud was put in a shed because his foster parents thought that he was lying to them. The parents thought that there 12 year old son was a prayer book. They saw them fighting and said that they did not allow that in there home. That is why he put in the shed
