Grand Prairie ISD Community and Student Engagement Performance Ratings June 2014

HB 5 Sec School District Evaluation of Performance in Community and Student Engagement; and Compliance: Allows for an evaluation of the level and quality of engagement between the community and its students and for districts, and campuses to showcase where they are excelling and where there is room for improvement Provides an opportunity to highlight the values within each district/campus/ as well as to tell the story of what is happening in districts and on campuses throughout the school year.

HB 5 Community & Student Engagement, Compliance District must evaluate the district and each campus in 9 areas Ratings: Exemplary, Recognized, Acceptable, or Unacceptable (overall rating and rating for each evaluation factor) District shall use criteria developed by local committee Submission to TEA no later than August 8 of each year Rating must be made public to constituents

Definition of Ratings Unacceptable rating is to be selected if the school does not meet indicator criteria Acceptable rating is to be selected if the school meets but does not exceed criteria Recognized rating is to be selected if the school exceeds the indicator criteria. Exemplary rating is to be selected if the school significantly exceeds the indicator criteria OR exceed the criteria and has earned other unique designations in the category area (such as Fine Arts state-level awards, unique program offerings, etc.).
