A mom Koala only gives birth to 1 Joey. A newborn Koala is only the size of a jellybean. This tiny creature is born earless. At about 7 months, they leave to go and eat leaves alone. Koalas have thick, wooly fur that protects them from heat and cold.

They are lead by a strong male. The family usually spends most of it’s time in the water. When a hippo sinks into the water, it’s ears and nose close up so no water get’s in. Hippo’s are excellent swimmers and can hold their breath for about 5 minutes. A hippo can eat up to 150 pounds of food a night.

The Guanaco can stand up to 3.5 to 4 feet. They have pale brown fur on their back and have pointy ears. Guanaco’s can get up to 300 pounds too. They live in groups of 10. As soon as the male reaches around 5, the male leaves and leads another group.

The mountain Gorilla is a peaceful, gentle, social, and mostly vegetarian. A typical group is led by 1 strong male. They wonder between 15 square miles. Mountain Gorilla's spend most of their time eating. They make big grass nests on the ground.

The oldest known Galapagos Tortoise was 152 years old. Giant Galapagos Tortoise’s are endangered. They sleep for about 16 hours per day. They are cold- blooded like all reptiles. They need the sun to keep form freezing.

Both the Guanaco & the Koala spend most of their time eating. The mountain Gorilla spends most of it’s time eating & the hippo spends most of their time in the water. Both the Mountain Gorilla & The Guanaco have packs lead by male’s. The Galapagos Tortoise is a reptile & The Koala is a mammal.
