2 Path Components Path segments, components, points: Curved line segment, Selected anchor point, Unselected anchor point, Direction point, Direction line; Smooth point and corner point: adjust curves simultaneously on both sides, adjust only the curve on the side of direction line;

3 Draw with Pen tool Draw Straight Line Segments: Shift-click to constrain the angle of the segment to a multiple of 45° Ctrl-click anywhere away from all objects to leave the path open Draw Curve Segment Drag to set the slope of the curve segment Alt-drag direction lines to break out the direction lines of an anchor point.

4 Draw with Freeform Pen Tool: control how sensitive the final path is - enter a value between 0.5 and 10.0 pixels for Curve Fit Draw with Magnetic Pen Options; Convert Point Tool - converting smooth anchor points to corner anchor points and vice versa;

5 Select a path Path Selection tool: select a path component; Direct Selection tool: select a path segment;

6 Paths panel Work Path temporary and unsaved path; double-click the path to save a work path ; Create New Path named path; Vector Mask Path Layer > Vector Mask > Current Path

7 Boolean Operators Combine Shapes - Adds the path area to overlapping path areas; Subtract From Shape Area - Removes the path area from overlapping path areas; Intersect Shape Areas - Restricts the area to the intersection of the selected path area and overlapping path areas; Exclude Overlapping Shape Areas - Excludes the overlap area;

8 Convert a Path into a Shape Layer > New Fill Layer > Solid Color Adjustment Layer > Solid Color Option Tool > Make > Shape Export Vector Path into Illustrator File > Export > Paths to Ilustrator…
