The Camera Lens Digital Photography

Lens Image quality is greatly affected by the quality of the lens. Lens types: fixed lenses (prime lenses) which have just one focal length zoom lenses, which allow the focal length to be varied myF6BSo myF6BSo

Types of lenses Standard Wide-angle Telephoto Zoom

Lens Elements Most cameras contain lenses which are comprised of several "lens elements."

Focal Range Lens Ratio Lens Ring Size Numbers on the Lens

Focal Range The focal range/length of a lens determines its angle of view, and how much the subject will be magnified. What does the focal length number mean? The focal length number tells us how much of the scene is captured in the picture. The lower the number, the wider the view, and the more we can see. The higher the number, the narrower the view, and the less we can see. Wide angle lenses Telephoto lenses - short focal lengths- longer focal lengths - wider angle of view- narrower angle of view - offers greater magnification

Camera stays still, focal length changes
