GLOBAL WARMING Causes, consequences, measures

The Global Warming is very famous theme among scientists and politicians. There are many facts and theories in confirmation or negation of the problems for Global Warming, and the society has more questions than answers.

What is the meaning of “Global warming”? Global warming is the increasing of the average temperature of the Earths atmosphere, what has been observing since For the period the average temperature close the Earths surface has increased with 0,7°C.

І. Causes for the Global Warming 1. Greenhouse effect– A process through which the atmosphere detains a part of the suns energy and in this way warms the Earth and changes its climate.

The carbon dioxid, for Example, enables the sunbeams to reach the Earth-surface, but hinders the emission of warm of warm back. The recent level of concentration CO2 in the atmosphere is 383 ppm, considerably more than the level before beginning of Industrial revolution (280 ppm)

The human activity leads to increasing of these gasses in the atmosphere, and this way reinforces.

The increased content of carbon dioxide dues to: The increased content of carbon dioxide dues to: The clearing of a huge number of forests for different kind of industries

The increased content of carbon dioxide dues to: The evaporation of limestone rocks

The burning of mineral resources (petroleum, coal, natural gas)

The excessively separation of methane, nitric acid and chlorofluoure carbon is connected with the usage of : Aerosol preparations Old refrigerators and a lot of air conditioners.

Methane is excreted by breeding cattle- 10%from the emissions of greenhouse gasses in Australia are coming from methane, produced from sheep and bulls (by their bringing up air)

Methane is excreted by: Mining coal; Taking bearings

from the rubbish, what we are throwing every day and what after that decomposed openly Methane is excreted by:

How easy is it to reduce carbon emissions How easy is it to reduce carbon emissions There are many possibilities for reducing global warming impacts and they the most attractive and achievable are those which provide an economic benefit, [1] such as energy efficiency and solar hot water [1]energy efficiencysolar hot water

Secondly there are additional options which are of approximately equal cost or marginally more expensive than current technology, such as wind power (in the right locations). These are the "low hanging fruit":wind power Reducing usage by greater efficiency to provide exactly the same service with less greenhouse impact;greenhouse impact More efficient lighting;efficient lighting Passive solar design and insulation in buildings Passive solar insulationbuildings

Alternatives to reducing emissions : ReforestationReforestation. This takes decades to take effect - worth starting now, but will be enough, or fast enough, to have a major impact. Forests remove carbon only while growing, so this requires periodic harvesting

Encouraging growth of plankton and thus fish, probably by adding nutrients to oceanic deserts. Fish can be harvested commercially planktonfish

Injecting aerosols (sulfur oxides?) into the upper atmosphere

Strict fuel consumption standards for cars - taking into account the embedded energy of the car itself Encourage small cars, with cheaper registration to reflect the lower cost to road maintenance; Efficient diesels.diesels

Choice architecture For example: Require energy companies to ask all new clients to make an active choice when registering. At the same time as they answer questions about name and methods of payment, they must be offered a choice between green energy and regular energy options

Avoid changes that are purely "feel good“ Many actions that are promoted by green sites and activists could be described as "shallow green," and not necessarily effectiveshallow green

Use of renewable energy in settings where it is known to actually provide an economic benefit:renewable energy Solar hot water (at least in some climates), Solar hot water Wind power Solar thermal energy Solar thermal ◦waste-derived biofuel biofuel
