The Do’s and Don’t’s of Business Casual Wear By: Maddison Scruggs

Match: Keep to one color scheme. Have A neutral and one or two colors or patterns to give appeal to your outfit. Wear appropriate jewelry: If you are in a business where you sit behind a desk, you can wear more Jewelry than someone walking and doing hands on work.

Do make a conscious effort to obey the workplaces rules. Business casual Is a professional look with out wearing a suit or formal dress.

Do not show cleavage. You do not have to wear heels but you do have to wear classy but appropriate shoes. Do not wear sneakers. Do not wear formal shoes. Find a comfortable medium.

Buy good quality classic items. You want to show that you have taste and are paid to do a job and uphold a certain standard at your company. Do dress appropriate for the season. Cover up when it is winter, go with short sleeve for the summer.

Do not wear tight, non fitting, clothing. Love your body size and dress it accordingly. Have baggy clothing tailored or hemmed to fit your body type. Do not wear inappropriate hosiery.

Do wear longer and more conservative clothing. Do act like a lady. Modest is the hottest. Don’t wear too short of skirts or too low of shirts.

Do not wear jeans. Do not wear see through clothing items. (The shirt to the left is see through. If you have to consider it, do not wear it.) Do not have holes in your clothing.

Use discretion. Do not show inappropriate areas of the Body. Don’t be careless. Be well groomed. Wear appropriate makeup to show that you tried to be here and seem professional towards your coworkers and your customers.
