History Competence since 1924 The vision of the founder August Bremicker was simple and timeless: “Security needs quality!” This mission statement was truly lived and enhanced by subsequent generations. Family-run since 1924, ABUS have developed into a strong, independent, worldwide operating company group with the help of their competent, friendly employees and a consequent orientation at their customer’s needs. Formed by a Christian company culture, which presents itself today with the “Spirit of ABUS” in a modern and innovative way. Founder of the company August Bremicker

Demand Vision Mission Statement Company Values In the international competition the ABUS brand is synonymous for domestic, commercial and mobile security. The lead over the competitors is being secured and enhanced. We make life a bit more secure. Mission Statement It is not only about products, but emotions. They are our brand promise. The promise „The good feeling of security“ is given to all people related to ABUS: To employees, customers, consumers, and suppliers. This mission is put into action in all parts of the company. Company Values We are a family-run, middle class company which is founded on Christian principles. The people are in the focus in our activities.

History The Story 1924 the company is founded by August Bremicker. Production of padlocks and hasps begins. 1958 the first brass padlock is introduced to the German market. 1959 production of bike locks starts. 1961 ABUS begin to produce door cylinders. 1971 As first manufacturer ABUS produces a “U”-shackle lock. 1993 The company sector “mobile security” becomes a separate division. 1996 ABUS is synonymous for security and included in the economy book “German Standards – Brands of the century”. 2001 ABUS acquire SCA Security Center. 2003 ABUS acquire SA Pfaffenhain. 2004 ABUS is the most recognised security brand in Germany and across Europe (GfK/Emnid).
