COORDINATE SYSTEM On a sphere such as the Earth, we can pinpoint the location of any city or landmark using two values, the lines of latitude and lines of longitude.

LINES OF LATITUDE On the Earth there are two reference points. The Equator divides the Earth into the Northern Hemisphere and the Southern Hemisphere.

LINES OF LONGITUDE The Prime Meridian divides the Earth into the Western Hemisphere and the Eastern Hemisphere.
