Objectives:  Describe the elements involved in planning for the patient’s discharge from the facility.  List the components of physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual health and describe the methods through which health is achieved.  List the equipment and supplies needed in the postanesthesia care unit (PACU) and describe the function and importance of each.

Objectives:  List the sealing methods utilized with the various microbial barriers and describe the usage of each type.  Identify methods utilized for identification of sterile items.  Describe the methods utilized when applying microbial barriers and describe the application procedure for each type.  Describe the principles for storage of sterile items and outline the technique for storing, handling, and distributing sterile supplies.
