FWPS/FWEAESP Negotiated Bargaining Agreement Collective Bargaining 101 ESP Professional Deveopment

Section Each employee shall be eligible for Professional Development Hours. The number of Professional Development Hours an employee is entitled to shall equal THREE (3) TIMES the employee’s average daily work hour schedule, not to exceed twenty-four (24) hours per year. Professional Development

For example: Daily Work Schedule 5.5 hours Total PD Available16.5 hours Professional Development Hours are non-accumulative and must be used prior to August 31 of each school year.

S ECTION P ROCEDUR E. In order to be eligible for Professional Development Hours or to access P ROFESSIONAL G ROWTH F UNDING, the following procedures must be followed: a) The employee must complete and submit the Professional Development Day Request Form (Appendix D)Appendix D

b) The employee must complete and submit the Course Evaluation Form (Appendix E).(Appendix E).

c) The class, course, seminar, or training must be approved by the supervisor. d) Classes, courses, seminars, or trainings that are not on the list published by the ESP P ROFESSIONAL D EVELOPMENT C OMMITTEE shall be allowed if they are approved by the employee’s supervisor. e) Classes, courses, seminars, or trainings can be funded by building or department budgets if funds are available and approved by the supervisor. f) If tuition or registration for classes, courses, seminars, or trainings is funded from the Professional Growth Fund; the employee must submit the appropriate documentation to be reimbursed.
