The Great Encounter Directions: Today you will be assigned a section from Chapter 4: The Great Encounter. Your task includes creating a flyer that advertises an idea to your target audience. This should be creative and directly relate to your assigned text. For example if you were assigned Juan Perez pg 60 you could make a flyer recruiting crew to explore Vancouver Island. Read under this textbox to discover what your flyer must include. Text Feature Flyer Project Chapter 4 The Great Encounter Name: _____________________Due: _________ Flyer Requirements: 1.Ch 4 Section 1.Ch 4 Section – You must read your section and come up with the main idea. Pg Number Assigned ______________ Main Idea: ________________________________________________________________________________________ __________________________________________________________________________________________________ Flyer 2. Flyer – This is a piece of paper that has an announcement or is advertising an event. (Flyer examples from today – Garage sales, Farmers Market, Play Production) -Your flyer must announce an idea from your assigned section. -Font – The title of the flyer should be in large font. -Border – Include a border around your flyer. This could be hand drawn or made with your computer -Picture – At least one picture must be included on the flyer. -Information/Day/Time/Location – The flyer must share the day, time, and location of the event. Presentation/Mechanics 3. Presentation/Mechanics – The flyer must include at least 4 colors and have appropriate spelling, theme, etc. Vary the font sizes on your flyer.. Summary Paragraph 4. Summary Paragraph – On the back include a summary paragraph of what your flyer is informing/advertising. Have both a hook/lead and thesis (main point) of your product. This should be at least 6-8 sentences. Final copy written in pen.
