OPEN DOOR MISSION human social service campus Project Overview: Located north of downtown Omaha and serves the Omaha Metro Area including Council Bluffs. In 2004 Open Door Mission, J. Development Company, and Alley Poyner Macchietto Architecture developed a Master Plan for the campus. Phase 1, The Lydia House, was completed Fall of 2009 and provides housing and support services for homeless women and children. Phase 2, Permanent Supportive Housing, began construction Fall of 2010 and is expected to be completed Spring of This facility will have 23 two-bedroom and 18 one-bedroom units for individuals and families seeking permanent housing. Phase 3, The Garland Thompson Men’s Center, will begin construction Spring of 2011 and is expected to be completed Fall of This facility will provide housing and support services to the homeless men population. The Open Door Mission envisions more phases in the future.
