Key Content of the new PSAT Words in context Command of Evidence-interpret, synthesize and use evidence found in a wide range of sources, such as graphs, tables, reading passages, etc. Math that Matters- Problem Solving and Data Analysis, Heart of Algebra, and Passport to Advanced Math.

Key Content of the new PSAT Questions grounded in real world world directly related to work performed in college and career. Analysis in Science and History/Social Studies US founding documents and the Global conversation NO PENALTY FOR GUESSING!

TEST CHANGES National Merit Scholarship Changes  Old PSAT *Total PSAT Score used to calculate NMQST Selection Index Score. *Highest NMQST Score was 240, same as highest PSAT Score  New PSAT *The sum of the PSAT Section Scores multiplied by 2 is used to calculate NMQST Selection Index Score. *Highest NMQST is a 228

TEST CHANGES Calculating NEW PSAT NMQST Score  Take the sum of all the Section Test Scores: Example: 36 Reading + 31 Writing/Lang + 28 Math = 95  Multiply the Sum by 2 Example: 95 x 2 = 190 Selection Index Score

TEST CHANGES How would an Old PSAT/NMQST Score translate to New?  The College Board’s Concordance Table demonstrates what a Section Score on the Old PSAT would be estimated on the New PSAT.  Example: 2014 Section Score 2015 Section Score Reading Writing Math Total x 2 = 228 * If a student scored 237 (Old PSAT) this could translate to a 228 (New PSAT) for NMQST.
