Presentation transcript:

The head of the government, the elected presedent must be a member of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). Usually an official government system in china would look like the people have the power through thier elected reprasentatives but it actually isn't like that. In China it is a one-party-state, meaning that if anyone runs in an election thay have to be a part of the Chinese Commmunist Party. The C.C.P. is a big influence to every level of government. Example: in city or town governments, and provicial commities, there are CCP representatives where people work. The Chinese Constitution tells all of the indevidual rights in China. These rights include voting, running for elections, employment, and education. But most of the time these rights are not respected. Some examples of this are: Some people are only aloud to watch the governments view of, say, news on T.V., and if a person were to get arrested, the trial may be very quick and the person wouldn't get any time to get legal help. You also can not speak against the government or you will get arrested, and you are not allowed to have any private companies because the government wants to control everything.

The republic of the Peoples Republic of China is the second largest in the world next to that of the U.S. with a GDP of $7.8 trillion. Despite China's size, the abundance of it's resources, and having about 20% of the world's population within it's borders, for the last two centuries it's role in world economy has been relatively small. The Chinese government calls their economic system "Socialism with Chinese characteristic's" but what this means is disputed. Although some say only a third of the economy is now directly state controlled, The senators in the hands of the state are generally the largest and most important industries. China's economy is very big and growing rapidly. In the last 30 years, the rate of Chinese economic growth has been almost miraculous, averaging 8% growth in GDP annum. Chinese economy is the fastest growing economy in world economy

China trades with Canada for steel and lumber. China's biggest trading partner is The United States. Here are some of the things that China trades: electrical machinery, petroleum and related products, professional and scientific instruments, office machines and data processing equipment, telecommunication equipment, and apparel (which is another word for clothing).

Food- Chinese food varies by region. In northern China, Mongolian influences are evident, especially in the use of the fire pot. Rice is not grown in the north, so noodles, soybeans, and breads are used more often. In the mountainous regions to the west, spicy foods are more prevalent. These forms are Szechuan and Hunan. In the south, Cantonese styles prevail. Fresh fruit and seafood are popular. Steamed rice is an important part of Chinese food. In most Chinese meals the food is cut into bite size pieces, ready to be picked up and eaten right away. Clothing- The rise of Manchu Qing Dinasty in many what’s represented a cultural rupture with the past and new clothing styles were required to be worn by all citizens through laws such as the Queue orders. A new style of dress tangzhuang, included the changshan worn by men and the qipao worn by woman. Manchu official headwear differed from the Ming version but the Quing continued to use the Mandarin square.

China is taken over by monsoon winds. There are big temperature differences between winter and summer in China. In winter cold, dry winds come from the north to China, and in the summer warm, moist winds come from the south. There is a place called the Nanling Mountains there is a lot of rain and the temperatures are high all year round. In the central part of the Yangtze and Huaihe river valleys there are four simple seasons. In the northeastern part of China the summer is short but it is very sunny. But the winter is really long and cold. There is not much rain in the northeastern part of China. In the southwestern part of China there is low latitudes, the earth is push up high, and it has vertical, seasonal zones with temperatures going from valley to mountain tops.

China stretches 5,026 km. across the East Asian area bordering the East China Sea, Korea Bay, Yellow Sea, and South China Sea, between North Korea and Vietnam in a changing configuration of broad plains, expansive deserts, and lofty mountain ranges, including vast areas of inhospitable terrain. The eastern half of the country, its seacoast lined with offshore islands, is a region of fertile lowlands, foothills and mountains, deserts, steppes, and subtropical areas. The western half of China is region of sunken basins, rolling plateaus, and very tall massifs, including a portion of the highest tableland on earth.
