TRADE TECHNOLOGY ADVISORY COMMITTEE 1) Industry Representatives (minimum of three) from Local Area Companies in your school district your school district Including Specialty Representative (where applicable) (Example-Building Inspector for the Construction Trades) 2) Department Head and Instructor(s) 3) Students (Graduate within the last five years-current student is optional) 4) Trade Consultant – Ex Officio 5) School Administrator – Ex Officio 6) Optional Members – Academic Teachers, Parents, Students, Etc. 7) Chairperson – selected from anyone within the committee COMPOSITIONCOMPOSITION

MEETING PROCESS

TRADE TECHNOLOGY ADVISORY COMMITTEE Minimum of two (2) per year Meetings scheduled by Department Head and reviewed by Administrator by September 19 with notification to the Superintendent by October 1st GENERAL ITEMS FOR EVERY MEETING Agenda, which is reflective of the minute form supplied, along with additional items that are important to your program reviewed with Administrator Examples: Field Trips, Professional Development, Legal Questions, Skills USA, MEETING PROCESS

TRADE TECHNOLOGY ADVISORY COMMITTEE FIRST MEETING Completed before November 21st GENERAL ITEMS PREVIOUSLY LISTED PLUS THESE Standard Equipment List reviewed and signed off by chairperson NOCTI or Perkins Examination process and results reviewed Textbooks and Technology reviewed and suggestions made Meeting length 60 minutes (not including dinner) Simplified Standardized minute and participant forms on the “Q” drive completed and forwarded to director by 11/28 MEETING PROCESS

TRADE TECHNOLOGY ADVISORY COMMITTEE SECOND MEETING Completed between February 27 and May 21 GENERAL ITEMS PREVIOUSLY LISTED PLUS THESE GENERAL ITEMS PREVIOUSLY LISTED PLUS THESE Curriculum reviewed and suggestions noted NOCTI –Preparation or Debriefing Review the Graduate Follow-Up Study (available from Bill Turek) Notification of Trade Reauthorization date (available from Robert Martin) Meeting length 60 minutes (not including dinner) Simplified Standardized minute and participant forms on the “Q” drive completed and forwarded to director by 5/28 MEETING PROCESS

TRADE TECHNOLOGY ADVISORY COMMITTEE Responsibility of Department Head to designate recorder and must ensure that minutes are recorded at every meeting using the simplified standardized template that is available electronically on the “Q” drive in a folder labeled T.T.A.C. Document will be “saved as” TTAC – Trade - School - Date example: TTAC - Carpentry - Grasso *Remember it’s a TEMPLATE and must be saved back into your “Q” Drive folder as a DOCUMENT titled TTAC – Trade – School - Date Trade Advisory Minutes are to be ed only to the Director who will review and forward the final version of all their trade/technologies minutes) to the Superintendent and cc: Terri Fabrizio cc: Terri Fabrizio MINUTE RECORDING PROCESS

TRADE TECHNOLOGY ADVISORY COMMITTEE Two newsletters – February and September – will be distributed to all Trade Advisory members and potential members Central Office Consultants and appropriate Assistant Superintendent will be responsible for coordination and distribution NEWSLETTER CONTENT The three (3) most important generic concerns, identified from the minutes, and an action plan, developed by the State Steering Team, to address them examples: funding, technology, CWE employment, etc. Recognition of new technology, production, awards, programs etc. Subsequent newsletters will provide measurement information on the success of addressing the concerns from the prior newsletter An area will be reserved for legal questions which will be answered by our Attorney Bea Tinty FEEDBACKFEEDBACK

TRADE TECHNOLOGY ADVISORY COMMITTEE Meet with administration to schedule two (2) tentative meeting dates by September 19th Complete Committee Composition by October 1 st and Publish meeting dates with Trade Advisory members, and Director who will forward to the Superintendent. Compose the Meeting Agenda following the Minutes Form Elect a Chairperson and designate recorder Minutes and participant information recorded on standardized form and forward electronically to the Director. Complete tasks required – Standard Equipment List sign-off, review of textbooks, curriculum, and review of supply money, etc. DEPARTMENT HEAD RESPONSIBILITIES

TRADE TECHNOLOGY ADVISORY COMMITTEE Review Trade Technology Advisory Committee guidelines with the Trade Department Head and Instructor(s) by August 29th Set tentative meeting dates with Trade Department Heads by September 19 th. Forward to the Superintendent a complete list of all your trade / technology meeting dates by October 1st. Review standardized reporting forms, located on the “Q Drive” with the Department Head prior to the 1 st meeting. Review the agenda with Department Head Secure information on Trade Reauthorization and Graduate Follow-Up from Central Office and forward to the Department Head Review committee minutes and insure they are forwarded to the Superintendent and cc: Terri Fabrizio via “ ” Suggest improvements to the Trade Advisory process to Dave Grzych ADMINISTRATIVE TEAM RESPONSIBILITIES

Assist in locating participants if requested by Department Head Attend as many meetings as possible Review minutes, list the top three (3) concerns for each of the trade areas and forward to your State Steering Team Construct action plans for each concern in conjunction with your State Steering Team and forward via “ ” to Dave Grzych for publication Forward positive news from each area via “ ”to Ray Mencio for publication – production, awards, new technology,professional development, etc. Forward process improvement ideas via “ ” to Dave or Ray TRADE CONSULTANT RESPONSIBILITIES

Attend as many meetings as possible Review common concerns and action plans with the Management Team and report back at a Trade Consultants Meeting Advise Administrative Teams on success and/or needed improvement of individual Trade Technology Advisory Committees Secure funds, review, and support the bi-yearly newsletter to all Trade Technology Advisory Committee members and potential members Assist in the development of an External Customer Survey to measure the success of the Trade Technology Advisory Committee process ASSISTANT SUPERINTENDENT RESPONSIBILITIES
