Question Time Mr Parvez – Head of Secondary School

Each house team in Buxton Voices asked Mr Parvez a few questions…

A Students will be in their own areas for play time/break and in their own areas within the building. Collisions shouldn’t really be a problem. Q How are we going to stop collisions between younger & older students in the new school?

A It will be a lot easier than it is now. We will have just one building 3 stories high and each Key Stage will have designated areas. Q How are we going to find our way around the new school?

A They are already together. Buxton Secondary and Primary merged in We have been working on getting a building that’s fit for purpose since then. Q What is the purpose of putting the Primary & Secondary together?

A Yes. Q Will there be toilets on every floor?

A For the primary phase there may be a few days when we need to move all the furniture & equipment. So, yes for the Primary students. Q Will any school days be cancelled?

A With so many students that may be very difficult. We will probably need to look at continuing staggered start and finish times. Q Will the primary and secondary students start and finish school at the same time?

A Yes. It will be much better. We will have some new equipment and modern teaching spaces that will make it a lot easier for you to learn. Q Will Primary & Secondary education change?

A Yes. I think there will be 3 entrances; another one for Nursery children too. Q Will there still be an entrance for Primary & another for Secondary?

A Yes. Q Will Jenny Hammond School still visit Buxton?

A Yes. There will be a lot of space. A new multi use sports pitch and plenty of other outdoor spaces. Q Will there be space for football in the new building?

A Yes. We are not looking at cutting any services back. In fact we may be increasing the services we offer outside class time. Q Will there still be Breakfast Clubs within the Primary and Secondary?

You’re very welcome. Thanks for all your questions. Thank you Mr Parvez for coming to our meeting.
