1. Anterior (Ventral) - front 2. Posterior (Dorsal) – back 3. Cranial – skull/head 4. Caudal – tail end 5. Superior – upper / above another 6. Inferior – lower / below another 1. Medial – toward the middle 2. Lateral – toward the side 3. Proximal – toward the point of attachment 4. Distal – away from the point of attachment 5. Superficial – near the surface 6. Deep – deeper than the surface; involving internal organs
