Exercise 4. Sidebar Information At the top right of each panel is an icon “<“ This opens a sidebar that lets you manipulate the panel data On a table survey view you can select which of the survey forms to show (Each “Begin Repeat” starts a new form) For a graph or map it allows you to select the options to show from a select_one or select_multiple © Smap Consulting Pty Ltd7

Exercise 5. Group By Graphs and Table panels can show a Question grouped by another question, for example – Problems faced grouped by gender – Average age grouped by marital status Maps can show a question grouped by regions – These region files need to be pre-loaded or can be generated (see next section) © Smap Consulting Pty Ltd8

Adding more layers to a map When you create the map you can chose to show the results layer on a different map panel The panel that is providing the data will be minimised and colored dark grey in the management sidebar You can edit the settings by clicking un-minimise, change the settings and then minimise again (c) Smap Consulting Pty Ltd11

Creating a report - 1 Each report has a single “item” from a survey attached to it, one of: – A picture, audio file, video file – A graph – A table – A map To create the report you select one of these items – For picture, audio, video; right click on the item – For graph, table, map; left click on the “up arrow” at the top of the panel (c) Smap Consulting Pty Ltd17

Creating a report - 2 (c) Smap Consulting Pty Ltd18 Fill in the report details and click “Save”. If there are location questions in the survey then the area covered by the report is filled in automatically. Otherwise update by pressing shift and dragging with the mouse across the map.

Publishing a report - 1 Creating a report does not make it available to other people. You need to send them a link to the report. This can be done in several ways: – Sending an – Embedding in a Wordpress blog – Sending a tweet – Posting to a Facebook group First select the “Reports” menu option in the Analysis module (c) Smap Consulting Pty Ltd19

Publishing a report – 2 Filtering reports The report list can be filtered by time or region – Drag the end points of the timeline at the top of the page to change the reports that are shown – Select a region of the map to change the reports shown (c) Smap Consulting Pty Ltd20

Viewing a report The report link that is published by or Facebook shows the report on a web page There are 2 menu buttons on this web page that the viewer can select to export the report into – MS Word – MS Excel (c) Smap Consulting Pty Ltd21

Reports and Security A password is not required to access a report However the link to the report contains a long random set of characters – 1154d8c aabd-f863cef2b812 Hence the need to publish a report as these characters can’t be guessed So reports are secure until they are published, then anyone who is given the link can view the report (c) Smap Consulting Pty Ltd22
