Cinderella’s story CRIADO (SERVANT): The prince says (that) I have to find the owner of this shoe. A girl lost it at the ball last night. When he finds her, the prince will marry her. The lucky girl will be a princess. Will you try it on, ladies? 1ª MEIA – IRMÃ (HALF SISTER): It must be mine! Give it to me! Look! It’s exactly my size!

Cinderella’s story (continues) 2ª MEIA – IRMÃ: You must be mad! It can’t be your shoe. Your feet are enormous, and this shoe is small and delicate, just like my feet. To be honest, young man, I think it might be my shoe. I’m sure I lost it at the ball. CRIADO: Ladies, ladies. Please! This shoe can’t be yours. Your feet are too big. Is there another girl in this house, or shall I go and ask your neighbours?

Cinderella’s story (continues) 1ª MEIA – IRMÃ: Well, there’s only Cinderella..... CRIADO: Cinderella? Where is she? 1ª MEIA – IRMÃ: Oh, I don’t know. She might be in the kitchen. 2ª MEIA – IRMÃ: She could be in the garden. CRIADO: Call her immediately. She might be the right girl that the prince is looking for. She might be the new princess!

Cinderella’s story (continues) AS MEIAS IRMÃS: Oh, no! She can’t be the princess! There must be some terrible mistake!
