Week -4 L 1 Presentation LIQUID - IN - GLASS THERMOMETERS

Lesson Objectives: Liquid-in-glass thermometer is made up of using a capillary tube, In the bottom of the capillary tube there is a bigger container to hold the liquid, The liquid that is usually used to fill thermometer is mercury or alcohol.

What is a liquid-in-glass thermometer? A liquid -in -glass thermometer is a temperature-measuring instrument consisting of a thin-walled glass bulb (the reservoir for the thermometer liquid) attached to a glass stem (the capillary tube through which the liquid moves with a change in temperature), with the bulb and stem system sealed against its environment.
