“Whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men.” ~ Colossians 3:23 “Do not overwork to be rich; because of your own understanding, cease!” ~ Proverbs 23:4 Work Hard at Everything You Do Don’t Overwork To Be Rich

 1 Timothy 6:10, “For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil, for which some have strayed from the faith in their greediness and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.”  Matthew 13:22, “deceitfulness of riches.”  Matthew 16:26, gain whole world, but lose soul The love of money is the root of all kinds of evil.

 Matthew 6:31-33, ““Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.”  Psalm 37:25, “I have been young, and now am old; yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his descendants begging bread.”  Hebrews 13:5, “be content with such things as you have.”  1 Timothy 6:6, “godliness with contentment.”  1 Timothy 6:8, “having food and clothing, with these we shall be content.” There’s a difference between needs and wants.

 Acts 20:35, “Remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that He said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.”  Matthew 19:21-22, “If you want to be perfect, go, sell what you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me.’ But when the young man heard that saying, he went away sorrowful, for he had great possessions.” It is better to give than to receive.

 Proverbs 27:24, “riches are not forever.”  Matthew 6:19, “Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal.” Riches and things don’t last very long.

 1 Timothy 6:17-19, “Command those who are rich in this present age not to be haughty, nor to trust in uncertain riches but in the living God, who gives us richly all things to enjoy. Let them do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to give, willing to share, storing up for themselves a good foundation for the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life.” Share what you have with others.

 Joshua 24:15, “Choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve.”  Matthew 6:24, “No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon.” You can’t serve God and mammon.

 2 Thessalonians 3:10, “If anyone will not work; neither shall he eat.”  Matthew 6:33, “Seek first the kingdom of God.”  Colossians 3:1, “If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God.” There are more important things than work and money.

 Matthew 6:20, “Lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal.”  Mark 10:23-25, “How hard it is for those who have riches to enter the kingdom of God!...It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God.” Lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven.
