I. Beginning the Neolithic Revolution What was life like during Paleolithic times (Old Stone Age)? –People were Hunters and Gatherers, they migrated many places. –Since people kept moving around do you think they trade not only goods but also ideas and customs? Yes, they did! This is called CULTURAL DIFFUSION: the exchange of ideas, customs, or goods across cultures. Do you think it was easy for nomads to keep searching for their food? What would have made the Paleolithic nomad’s life easier? –Knowing how to farm! Then nomads wouldn’t have to keep moving. When people learned how to Farm the Neolithic Revolution began! II. Neolithic Times Around 10,000 B.C. (Before Christ) people made two important discoveries… –They learned to plant seeds to grow food… Again, why would this be important? –And they learned to domesticate animals What does it mean to “Domesticate” an Animal? Why would this be important? These discoveries let people live in Permanent settlements. This meant they didn’t have to travel anymore! This change is called the New Stone Age or the Neolithic age.
