Governor Appoints administrators and department directors. Commands the state militia Grants pardons and reprieves. Administers and enforces the laws of the state. 4 year term
Branches Legislative Branch – Called the General Assembly – Senate 59 senators – House of Representatives 118 Representatives – Can override a governors veto with 3/5 majority vote.
Branches Judicial Branch – Judges are elected in general elections. 7 Judges on the Supreme Court
Education The state has the primary responsibility for funding public education. Public education shall be free.
Voting Qualifications 18 or older Permanent resident of the state for 30 days Must be a registered voter. Must be a citizen.
