Denmark and UN/CEFACT – an early adopters perspective Adam Arndt Danish National IT- and Telecom Agency Head of Delegation for Denmark

The story so far... Early adopters - Danish eProcurement Project started in 2003 (?) Ambition to drive digitization of trade in Denmark using the public sector as a lever. February 1 st 2005: Law stating that all invoices to the public sector have to be sent electronically. Originally based on UBL because it was seen to be closer to market than UN/CEFACT. Updated 2006/07 - CEFACT still not there yet Since 2005/06 focus on getting CEFACT there

The Danish Government in CEFACT Government joined late 2005 NITA has Head of Delegation Average forum participation 2 persons since Vancouver Active in TBG1 and TBG6 - possibly more soon Leadership in multiple projects Increasing interest and involvement from both government and privatesector

Resource allocations Total annual budget of approx. USD Split over multiple areas of effort: National implementation (3 man years + $ ) Infrastructure project (3 man years + $ ) UN/CEFACT (0,50 man year + $40.000) UBL (0,25 man year + $5.000) NES (0,25 man year + $40.000) CEN BII (0,50 man year + $50.000) PEPPOL - EU pilot project (1 man year + $20.000)

Denmark and CCTS, UMM and NDR Previously: national NDR without CCTS and UMM New national reg/rep with CCTS 3.0 in mind will be available for reuse as open source Revising national NDR maximum compatibility with UN/CEFACT NDR 3.0

Denmark and CEFACT syntax Use international syntax where possible CEFACT preferred where it exists Functionality valued over origins Intention to use CEFACT syntax for Tendering now After enrichment with CEN BII business requirements Intention to use CEFACT syntax for new areas Transport, Payment, … General switch to full CEFACT syntax projected in 2012
