Tapping into Available Personnel Resources

What Do We Mean by Available Personnel Resources? People who are already doing, or could do, the job you want done, but who don't work for your organization or initiative. Available money for wages is a consideration Full time, Part time, Emergency Volunteers

Why tap into available personnel resources? Economics Extending your reach Opportunities for collaboration Developing community support Providing those who help you with new skills and information New perspectives Ideas for more comprehensive programs

When should you tap into available personnel resources? When money is tight. When you have a specific job that needs to be done, and don't have the capacity to do it within the organization as it exists. When you're an initiative that doesn't provide direct service, but it's clear that direct service is needed.

When should you tap into available personnel resources? When funders ask for something you can't deliver alone. When you actively want to initiate a collaboration or partnership with another organization. When you need more manpower quickly to accomplish an immediate goal. When existing resources become available, and fit with the needs and mission of your organization.

Where do you find available personnel resources? 1.Staff of other organizations. – Loaned – Shared – Contracted – Employed in a collaborative or join program – Bartered or traded services

Where do you find available personnel resources? 2.Interns – Paid internships – Unpaid internships 3.Volunteers 4.People working for you but paid by another source
