1. Teaching reading skill and new constructivist approach in digital era Goals and objectives of current English curriculum: heavy stress on the instruction of literacy skills associated with print literacy Needs: learning by doing, training students to get more critical thinking skills by equipping them with media literacy and utilizing Internet-based e-learning tools using technologies as intellectual partners to  (a) articulate what they know;  (b) reflect on what they have learned;  (c) support the internal negotiation of meaning making;  (d) construct personal representations of meaning;  (e) support intentional, mindful thinking

Learners’ characteristics HUCFL:  11 groups of second-year students majoring in English language  30 students majoring in different fields (English language, Japanese Studies, Vietnamese Studies) agreed to enroll in this course PKU:  there are 21 students from different backgrounds (English, Economics, Environment, International Relations, Archeology)  8 groups, each group to collaborate with one or two Vietnamese sister groups
