Education Required Bachelors Degree in social work, counseling, psychology, rehabilitation services or mental health is the minimum requirement Licensure by the State Board of Teaching and Board of Social Work Other classes that would be helpful to have are child development, organizational behavior, interviewing techniques, psychology and counseling classes. Human behavior in the social environment, social policy, and child welfare are specific Social Work classes Classes related to child and adolescent development and pathology is much needed to understand what is normal and regular behavior and what is not. Parenting issues and special education classes are well needed also.

Social Workers Income BA level - $35,000 per year depending on the school district MA level - $40,000 per year starting Non-profit organizations or human service organizations don’t pay as much unless overseen or directed otherwise
